Sweet Sassy is a senior girl. She’s so mellow and relaxed, a super easy dog that just wants to be around her people. She is house trained, has been crated for a normal workday (but will have run of the house soon), and has run of the house at night. Her preferred bedtime spot has been the couch or on a big dog bed next to her people. She knows basic commands, sit and come, and knows how to shake. Sassy loves going to the local dog park and is the happiest dog there. She approaches all the dogs and has been great with all of them. She likes to run and chase a little bit, but then settles down to walk with her foster mom around the park, touching her nose to her foster mom’s hand, just to make sure they are together. She does really well with the cat and small dog in the house, letting them have their space. Sassy will make a great companion for someone looking for an easy-going dog for easy walks and comfy couch time.
Sassy is estimated to be 8+ years old and 69 lbs.Since we don't know at all what doggy genes are in the dogs make up (we don't know who mom and dad are!), we are just guessing on breed.
All dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. They have all had a vet exam, are up to date on vaccinations, have been given a dewormer, are treated for fleas, have a heartworm test if over 6 months old and are up to date on a heartworm preventative.
Please note that because we require a home visit at the time of adoption we can only place animals in homes within a 60 mile radius of Minneapolis.If you are interested in meeting this dog please fill out the pre-adoption application on our website at http://www.safehandsrescue.org under Adopt and we will get back to you to arrange a meeting in the foster home.
