2/25/2017: KAHLUA HAS BEEN ADOPTED! Kahlua and her sister, Java are purebred dobermans-their tails are docked but ears are natural. They are 7 months old and were surrendered because they had demodectic mange and were nearly hairless. The dogs were taken in by a dog lover and she started their treatment but was unable to keep them for long so she contacted us to take them. The girls are still needing continuing treatment and still have areas of hairless but it is slowly coming back. The girls are still puppies and are friendly dogs. They will have a period of adjustment in their new homes though so please expect that. Anyone who adopts them must agree to continue their treatment as it may take several more weeks or even months for them to be completely as good as new. These dogs will be large dogs and will need room to run and play. They will do what puppies do so please expect that as well. They should do great with kids and other dogs after their initial adjustment to their new environment. We will be taking them to the vet on Dec. 7th to see if they can be spayed. If so, they will be ready to go to their new homes anytime after tomorrow. It would be wonderful if they could have permanent families by the Christmas holidays! They will be available for $300 each and this adoption fee will assist with their spay, vetting and daily cost of care while with us.
