Devon's Story...
Ok....we admit it...Devon is a Hound of unknown breed, but she is a super sweet hound and that's ten times more important than any breed we could possibly come up with. Whatever she has in her DNA makeup is obviously the best of those breeds. She's playful and active and also loves to snooze with you when all the important activities are done for the day. She's good with other dogs, seems to be housebroken and loves to go on walks. She's a great all around good girl with a dream to make a family her very own. Get your application in quick so you can come and meet this 35 pound sweetie pie and see for yourself whatever breed she is, it's a great one.

To see Devon, submit an adoption application at http://hsfc.org/adoptions/applications/online/. Staff will contact you—typically within two business days—for a phone interview and to schedule an appointment to visit the Farm in Centreville where our dogs and horses are kept.

Our dogs and horses are NOT at the HSFC shelter at 4057 Chain Bridge Road, Fairfax, VA--only our cats, birds, rabbits, and small mammals can be visited there. Come by and see us!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Devon, a Fairfax Hound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Fairfax, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Fairfax.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fairfax already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fairfax breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fairfax paves the way for another one to be saved.
