Lucy's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Lucy's Story...
Lucy came to us as a dog tossed away. She appears to be a Collie mixed breed and is about 8 years old. She had total loss of fur and we tested her for mange, but all results were negative. Regardless, we continued to treat her skin condition and she is now sporting a lovely new coat. Soon it will be completely filled out.
Lucy is great with people (a bit shy at first) and she is cat and dog social. She is house and crate trained, spayed and current on vaccines.

If you want a dog where all the work is done, she's your gal.

Are you interested in adopting Lucy or another JCAPL pet you have seen? You'll need to start by completing an adoption application, available online at our website: www.jcapl.org. There is no obligation to adopt by completing an application, however, we do recommend submitting an application as soon as you find an animal you are interested in. We review applications in the order they are received.

Completed applications can be sent via email to adopt@jcapl.org, faxed to 919-300-5524, or delivered in person by visiting us at one of our adoption events on Saturdays at PetSmart in Garner (White Oak Shopping Center).

We will contact you as soon as possible once we receive your application for Lucy.

Thanks for thinking adoption!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucy, a Smithfield Collie/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie/Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Smithfield, or seeking a Collie/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Smithfield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Smithfield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Smithfield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie/Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Collie/Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Smithfield paves the way for another one to be saved.
