My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Just nothing cuter than a Bassett mix and this one is named Penny. She's a sweet girl who is shy but coming around quickly. She has come from a home who ignored her, left her hungry and dirty and didn't care about her at all. She's good with other dogs and with a little time she will be a wonderful companion. She wants to please you and wants to love you and when she sees you are not going to hurt her, she will approach you for some loving. She has a white coat with a touch of black and tan, is 3 yrs. old and weighs approx. 35 pounds at the present time. After some much needed weigh gain she should top out at 40-45 pounds. Come and meet Penny and show her there are people who love her and will not leave her again.

To see Penny, submit an adoption application at http://hsfc.org/adoptions/applications/online/. Staff will contact you—typically within two business days—for a phone interview and to schedule an appointment to visit the Farm in Centreville where our dogs and horses are kept.

Our dogs and horses are NOT at the HSFC shelter at 4057 Chain Bridge Road, Fairfax, VA--only our cats, birds, rabbits, and small mammals can be visited there. Come by and see us!
