Our rescue will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express Saturday, January 21st from 1-4pm and Sunday, January 22nd from 12-3pm. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated and microchipped.
* If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. * We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted. * We do not ship our dogs for any reason. * Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy. * If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescue
This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, January 21st from 1-4pm and Sunday, January 22nd from 12-3pm or until adopted. However, we do meet with those who submit an application and are approved just prior to the event (by invitation only) and they are given the first opportunity to adopt. If you are interested in one of our dogs, we recommend filling out an application prior to the event to be considered. Applications submitted within 24 hours of the event may not necessarily be reviewed.
Bradley is a 2 year old Cairn Terrier mix who we rescued from the shelter. He has a beautiful, shiny coat and a sweet disposition to match! When he went to the vet to get fixed, he was quite the popular guy, and so well behaved! His foster describes him as curious, playful, sensitive, kind and energetic. Head rubs are his favorite thing and the way to his heart. He's a smart, trainable boy who quickly learned 'sit' and is working on 'down.' His foster mom says: 'He has the perfect energy level. When you want to play, he’ll be an upbeat playful dog, but if you need to work on a homework assignment, he’ll happily curl up in his dog bed and take a nap.' He also loves toys and is great at playing fetch! He wasn't a fan of the crate at first, but after being tempted in with some bits of ham, he learned it's a great place to be, and will sleep quietly in his crate through the night.
Bradley is fostered with two grumpy older pups and gets along well with them. He comes off a bit shy at first, and the ideal family will give him time to settle in. Once he trusts you, he'll be a loving and social guy who won't want to leave your side!
Bradley is an option for those who have had a dog in the last 5 years. If there are children in the home, they need to be over the age of 8.
**Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)
**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.
