Autumn's Story...
Autumn (short hair torti, 13 year old female) Surrendered to the Shelter after having the same owner since she was a kitten, this sweet loving girl was left in a precarious predicament. Not only was she considered a senior cat, there was no way for her to show her loving nature while being stressed out in this strange, scary and loud environment. She needed time to adapt and time for someone to recognize how much she had to offer. Sadly, time ran out – almost. That’s when FUR swooped in and brought her to safety where she immediately settled in and expressed her gratitude with love, head butts and plenty of lap time which included rolling around with her feet up in the air while still remaining cuddled in your arms. Her markings are well defined and gorgeous. This sweet little soul would make the perfect, calm and attentive companion. If you have been missing a bit of loving, this girl is for you! If you are older and sure that a lively, rambunctious kitten is not for you, she would be perfect.

Our shelter is a no cage, no kill sanctuary. Most of the cats in our care are here because they was no other alternative and for many it was their last hope. All of our cats receive love, affection and attention everyday. Every volunteer we have spends personal time with each and every one of them so we can tell you in detail all about their personality when you come to adopt. The more we can adopt out the more we can go out and rescue.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Autumn, a Waynesville Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Waynesville, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Waynesville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Waynesville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Waynesville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Waynesville paves the way for another one to be saved.
