Hi! I'm Brutus and I have a lot of love to give. I've spent the last four years with my owner in a senior retirement facility until her passing. As you can imagine, when I first arrived at the shelter I was somewhat shut down and unsure about people. With a little time and lots of love from the shelter staff and volunteers, I have blossomed into a much different dog. I love walks and have great least manners. I am getting used to being with other dogs and I'm joining in the fun during the small dog play groups. I even have a small dog kennel mate now. The volunteers say I have a sweet and friendly personality that is coming through more and more each day. I would do best in a home with no small children, not that I am naughty; I just haven't been around kids. I am a great little guy just waiting for a chance to put a little love in your life. Please come down and ask for Brutus!

About North Bay Canine Rescue & Placement

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a group of people dedicated to rescuing dogs from crisis situations, some of which include euthanasia by animal shelters, neglect and other forms of abuse, or "free to a good home" ads, which result in dogs being bounced from one home to another, or being acquired by animal brokers ("bunchers") and sold to research laboratories where they are used for testing then discarded ("cruelty industries").

NBCR&P works primarily with 5 herding breeds, and herding breed mixes. On occasion, NBCR&P also rescues and places other breeds. We foster our dogs in a home environment, rather than a kennel, if at all possible. We take pride in our promise that at any time and for any reason in the dog's life, if the need arises, he or she has a safe place with us ("return to rescue" policy).
