My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please apply at RuralAnimalRescueEffort.org

Well, hello there! My name is Duchess.

If you are looking for a compact, super friendly and loving dog, then you've come to the right place!
I am about 5-6 years old and 45 lbs. My foster mom says that I give the best kisses and I love people SO SO much! I get a little excited at first, but I am much calmer since I am an adult. I am a muscular and stocky mauve colored staffordshire, but I'm rather on the short side. I am currently in foster care and I am completely crate trained and house trained. I have been around dogs, cats and children. If I were to live with or play with another dog, they need to be friendly, somewhat submissive and non reactive/aggressive. The dogs that have been my friends have been very friendly, playful and submissive

My heart is as big as my smile and I just can't stop smiling! The humans that had owned me before over-bred me for a long time, so I am very grateful now that my breeding days are over. I can now enjoy being cared for instead. I could be ok as an apartment dog if I had a few walks or runs throughout the day. I would REALLY like to have a fenced yard or an enclosed area for exercise, but I mostly want to be with you! So, even though I like to get in a good "zoomie"; or two around the yard after doing my business, I want to come right back inside and be a part of whatever your doing.

If you are looking for a super friendly, all around fun girl with a great temperament, then look no further! Apply for me today so we can meet!

My adoption fee is $65.00.
I am spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, kept on intestinal parasite and heartworm preventative, and microchipped.

Please visit www.RuralAnimalRescueEffort.org for foster and adoption applications or for additional information. If you have any trouble, please email us at RuralAnimalRescueEffort@gmail.com

Please allow us at least 24 hours to respond, as we are a volunteer based organization with full time jobs in addition to rescue. If you do not hear from us within 72 hours, please feel free to email us at RuralAnimalRescueEffort@gmail.com to inquire on the status of your application.

**An application and home visit are required. Transport can potentially be arranged to approved homes. Please ask us for more information if you are not in Tennessee**

**All of our pets are or will be spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccines and micro-chipped prior to adoption. Please complete the application on our website and we will call you to answer any questions you may have.**

Our adoption fees not only help the animal being adopted, but they also help to cover heart-worm treatments and other treatable ailments that many animals, that would otherwise be euthanized, need to be made available for adoption.

Thank you for choosing to adopt, foster, or aid in the rescue efforts of RARE!
