Hi my name is Layla. I came to the Dog People family after the flood. I am a very affectionate, loving, sweetheart that will follow you around where ever you go. I talk with my heart instead of my ears, because I am unfortunately deaf. I act like just like all the other dogs, but I pay extra close attention to my humans because I want to make sure I can see them if they try and sneak away. My foster human has attached a pretty awesome link with facts about deaf dogs below if you would like to learn more about my special need.

Our dedicated team of rescuers, fosters, and volunteers works tirelessly saving the lives of dogs at our local kill-shelter as well as other homeless dogs throughout our parish. Through our adoption and transport programs as well as partnerships with northern rescues and shelters, we have been able to help over 200 puppies and dogs find their forever homes locally and out of state.
