My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

NOTE: All our Cupids are fostered in private homes. An approved application MUST be on file before proceeding with meet-and-greet. The online application can be found at http://www.caninecupids.org/adopt-.html.

Meet Hoyt!
Hoyt is so sweet and will make a great companion. He is funny and smart. He will make you smile every day. Hoyt enjoys being loved, making you laugh.

At approximately 6 months old, Hoyt's sweet and playful personality is really shining. He is house (90%) and crate trained. He wants to play, play, play and goes to daycare once a week. He is friendly with dogs of all sizes and ages, and currently lives with a 70+ lb female lab and 12 lb male spitz. Hoyt loves to play tag with the little dog. He is always really funny to watch him toss and play with the other dogs and toys. He settles down nicely in the house and loves to curl up on the couch next to you or on a nice doggie bed.

Hoyt takes correction from humans and dogs well even during play. He started a weekly manners training classes the first full week in December and already knows "sit", "wait" and walks well on leash.

Hoyt is nearly fully recovered from his mange and skin infection but will need to have medicated baths every 2 to 3 days until he receives the all clear from a veterinarian. He doesn't love the bath, but doesn't put up a stink about it either. A few treats and he will happily climb into the bath on his own.

Hoyt is a very special boy who deserves to have someone love him as much as he will love you... forever.

Hoyt’s adoption fee is $300 and he is being fostered in southeastern Wisconsin. Because all our Cupids are fostered in private homes, an approved application MUST be on file before proceeding with a meet-and-greet. The online application can be found at http://www.caninecupids.org/adopt-.html.

Our Thoughts on Visual Breed Identification
Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable. For most of our adoptable Cupids we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We think it’s most important is to get to know each dog as an individual! We then do our best to describe each of our adoptable Cupids based on their personalities in order to determine whether they’ll make good companions based on prospective adopters’ lifestyles. Dog behavior is not exclusive to breed — it’s a complex mix of nature and nurture.
