Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Helena is a lovely, sweet, snuggly, huggable, friendly and trusting, eight-pound, ten-year-old, skinny female polydactyl tabby cat looking for a loving guardian.
Helena is living in a foster home where she has proven to have excellent litter box habits.
She is brave and not one to hide; she comes right out of her carrier, checks out her new environment, loves to play with toys - especially those with catnip! She is so sweet and good with other cats, and people of all ages including children.
Rescued from Chicago Animal Care and Control, Helena’s owner was a cat hoarder who passed away. She and 13 other cats were dropped off at the shelter. Poor Helena weighed only four pounds when she was rescued.
She has extra toes (polydactyl), but she also has a genetic defect, a fistula (hole) in the roof of her mouth. So sometimes after she eats, she sneezes and her mouth gets a little wet. But she requires no special medical care and no special diet. In fact, she’s an easy cat since she loves everyone and everything! She’s very small and skinny, but I’m guessing she’ll fill out with just a little TLC in a loving home.
Helena is otherwise a healthy senior with all her claws, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped and virus-tested.

Her adoption fee of $125 benefits the rescued pets of Famous Fido. She is being fostered in Mundelein, Illinois.
