Facts about Charlie

  • Breed: Domestic Longhair
  • Color: Orange Or Red (Mostly)
  • Age: Senior
  • Sex: Male
  • Hair: Long
Charlie was rescued from my dad's farm after he was dumped there. When I stopped by to help with feeding the cats, Charlie started to just cry out. He was so scared of where he was and from what had happened he was too scared to eat. I scooped him up and brought him home. Charlie has IBS and must be on a grain free diet. If he is fed anything else, he cries out in pain because his tummy hurts. Charlie loves people and loves attention. He however hates the other cats. He tolerates the older cats but smacks the kittens every chance he gets. We jokingly call him Charlie crankypants. He gets along fine with the dog. Charlie is a senior cat and would love a home where he is the only cat.

About Cause for Paws

About Our Rescue Group...

I started with Cause4paws located in Virginia in 2010, at first I was just a foster parent and was not much more involved than that. In 2013 I moved to P.A. to be nearer to my dad. I made an appointment with the vet and asked what rescue groups were in the area, she said, "pardon?" I repeated, rescue groups, I want to foster for a rescue group. She stated that there was the local shelter, and I said no, rescue groups, and she said to the best of her knowledge, there weren't any. Because I was still working with the group in V.A I did not volunteer for the shelter, I would make trips down to V.A and take adoptable cats and kittens down there to be placed for adoption through the local Petsmart stores. It soon became apparent that this area has an overwhelming number of homeless cats and kittens, and I was doing my best and spending all of my own money when I realized, I could no longer do this by myself. I needed the help of the community. So we got Cause4paws registered in the state of P.A as a non profit charitable organization and began the process of seeking donations and supplies. It was worked out much better than I initially anticipated, but due to the huge number of stray cats and kittens out there we still have a long way to go.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We hold regular adoption events in Fredericksburg V.A at the Petsmart located in Central Park shopping center. Cats located in Pennsylvania can be viewed by appointment only.

Our Adoption Process...

We do have an application that needs to be filled out. References from vets and friends/family will be required. All members of the household must sign off on the application to show that they understand that a pet is being brought into the home. If you live in a rental home, apartment or trailer park, you will be required to have a signed document from the owners stating it is ok for you to have a pet. Adoption fees are $125.00 per cat or kitten that is already spayed and neutered and vaccinated. This helps us cover the cost of the surgery and vaccinations that have already been provided to the cat or kitten. If you live locally, a home visit will be required prior to adoption approval.
