Bennett's Story...
Bennett is a sweet boy that does well with other dogs. He was rescued from a hoarding situation where he received no positive socialization with men, as a result he is very selective on men that he chooses to socialize with, but once you are in, he is very affectionate. Bennet is about 3 years old and weighs 15 pounds.

Oh, OK, I'll admit to being one of the favorites but I've been here so long how could anyone help to get attached to me? And I mean a long, long time. Why you ask? I'll tell ya but it still burns me even after all this time. I belonged to someone who couldn't get enough dogs, you guys call it a hoarder I believe. For years I barely even saw a human and when I was saved I was scared of them, particularly those big and tall humans called men. Ahh, but that was some time ago and I'm more used to humans--especially the kind that keep me sheltered, feed me and give me love and attention. I'm a bit of a ladies man; much preferring women over men. I'm very chilled, loving, playful and low matenance. But I need a special someone who is patient, understanding and devoted to continuing to open my eyes to the vaster human race. Could that be you? Pick me, pick me!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bennett, a Santa Ana Dachshund/Australian Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Australian Terrier for sale in Santa Ana, or seeking a Dachshund/Australian Terrier dog from a breeder in Santa Ana.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Santa Ana already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Santa Ana breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Australian Terrier breeders who help with Dachshund/Australian Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Santa Ana paves the way for another one to be saved.
