*Copper has an old, fully healed injury to one eye and is blind in that eye. His eye will not need any treatment but the vet said that his vision will not return in that eye. He is also deaf so he will need a big fenced in yard at his new forever home! He will need an adopter that can teach him hand signals. He acts just like any other playful, young boy! He is AWESOME!
*Hi! I'm Copper! I'm relatively new to the world and now looking for my forever home! Yes, I'm a cutie pie with my big ears! I'm quite the character! I'm approx. 7 months old and approx. 35 pounds(1/17). I'm a little shy at first but, with a loving rub, I quickly become your best friend! I'm extremely sweet, loving, friendly and playful. You'll see just how wonderful I am in my video! I'm great with kids and other dogs. I haven't been tested with cats. I'm highly intelligent and mind well, inside and out. I'm already house trained. I'm very inquisitive and learn easily. I don't tear up anything in the house. I LIVE TO PLAY and LOVE to play with other dogs as you'll also see in all of my videos. I also love to give them kisses. When I'm not playing, I love to be a lap baby! I really enjoy being petted and loved on. I also enjoy sleeping next to someone. If you're looking for a dog that will be fun for the whole family, including your current dog, then look no further! I'm smart, loving, playful and ready for my great forever family! I'm going to be a beautiful and big adult. I'm ready to learn new things and live the good life I so richly deserve! I'd love to be an exciting addition to your wonderful life! I'll provide the unconditional love and you can provide the safe and loving home! Belly rubs are a must!
*My brother; Champ, is also up for adoption!

Adults are also sterilized and heartworm tested prior to placement. For more information/application visit our website at www.saveamuttkennel.info/ TRANSPORTATION TO THE NORTHEAST IS AVAILABLE. All pets come from NC/VA (our euthanasia rate is approx 85%) and must be quarantined (to ensure health) prior to leaving the state. We go ahead and post them in hopes of them having a home ready and waiting for them to go, once their quarantine period is over. We also adopt into Canada. About Carolina Canine Rescue Burlington VT

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a small  nonprofit  group.  We rely only on our adoption fees to survive. We have been rescuing, vetting, and rehabilitating dogs and puppies  since 2009.  We take  in dogs and puppies  from our county  kill shelter as well as abandoned and injured dogs and puppies, regardless  of  their age or any health issues.  We do not turn any away due to health issues. We have taken in dogs with hearworms, mange, physical handicaps, injuries, severe malnutrition, etc. You name it, we've probably seen it! We get these pooches back to good health then begin our search for just the right home for that pet! We also  assist  individuals  in rehoming  their  pets if needed. One advantage we have over other rescues is that two of our volunteers are in wheelchairs, so many of our pooches are already used to being around individuals with special needs!

Donate to Our Rescue Group...

Any monetary donations are greatly appreciated and go toward vet bills and dog food!  Donations may be made by mail or paypal to awsurry@gmail.com   Our website also has a paypal donate button on the homepage. All donations  are tax deductible!

Come Meet Our Pets...

We hold adoption events at various pet stores during the warmer months.

Our Adoption Process...

We do require  an adoption  application  and an adoption  contract,  which can be  found  on our website  at  carolinacaninerescuenc.com   Adoption  fees vary. You must be at least 20 yrs. of age to apply.

All of our available  pets are rescued  from NC and VA where the county animal shelters euthanize up to 100% of the animals.  Many of the southern county shelters still euthanize with the gas chamber and by heart stick.
