If you're searching for a devoted and loving best friend....Oakley is the pup you want to have around! Oakley, at just 6 - 8 months old and 12 lbs (anticipated to be approximately 15 lbs when full-grown), is just naturally a lover ....when he looks at you with those dark, expressive eyes and sweet smile, your heart just has to melt. We've been told that Oakley is a beautiful Cavalier (love his beautiful feathered legs) mixed with a Long-Haired Dachshund. Oakley has all the traits that make these very smart and personality-plus dogs two of the most popular breed mixes around.
Oakley enjoys his time with his rescuer so much that he joins her just about everywhere she goes...it's important to Oakley to be a true best friend! He loves his people more than anything and would definitely win a lap-dog (or couch hogger) award. Oakley is a sensitive guy and derives so much joy from his time spent with kind, dog-loving people.
Oakley is a young, healthy guy who will love his family with all his heart. He would enjoy another kind and gentle dog to play with (although if his family is loving and present, Oakley would do fine alone as well). He would love nothing more than to lie in the sunshine enjoying a beautiful day with a canine or human friend. Oakley would have so much fun exploring and taking walks along the Colorado trails. He is always open to new activities...just say the word and up he jumps for a car ride or just a sociable walk around the neighborhood.

Oakley is a stunning Cavalier/Dachshund mix (or so we've been told) with a beautiful face and the prettiest eyes ever (his photos don't do him justice..he's gorgeous). He'd be a great addition to any family that loves dogs (he's so lovable) and has the energy to continue training with a young guy.
Oakley is an extremely affectionate and loving dog! We would love to see him in a home with a family (older kids preferred so there's no tail-pulling) or active retirees who have the time (maybe a positive reinforcement group class?) and love for a very loyal and kind dog. We'd hate to see Oakley left alone all day while his family works full-time...he's too sensitive for that. He's such an amazing dog and just the right size and temperament to accompany his people just about anywhere.
Farfel's Rescue would like to see Oakley in a home where he'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and tons of hugs. A positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a young guy just learning about the world.
