Special Boy… Seeking a Special Family

Hello world! My name is King. I am a 7 year old French Brittany looking for my forever home! My former life was NOT good! When NBRAN found me, I had been in a shelter for quite some time.  I was safe, but I didn't like that place!   I was REALLY afraid.  Actually, I’m still afraid.  But, every day it gets better!

I need a special family!  I need an owner that understands dogs and has lots  of experience with Brittanys.  I need a family that is home more often than not. I LOVE to snuggle and I LOVE humans! Small humans and young humans make me nervous.  I am eager to please and comfortable with adults, a true companion dog.  I am kennel trained, but would prefer to be close to you snuggled on the couch.  I will work for treats and I'm told I'm a fast learner.  I greet my humans with a wiggle butt, a smile, and -if you're lucky- kisses from a King!

Running, sniffing and exploring are some of my favorite things.  I absolutely need a 6-foot privacy fence to keep me safe. I love to go on walks, too, but I HAVE to be on a leash. I already know how to walk on a leash, but sometimes I get excited about being outside and pull. A harness reminds me that I need to slow down.  My new owner needs to be proactive about reading the environment and always managing the situation.  A really nice trainer came to see me and she said I’m leash reactive to other dogs.  I guess I need to work on greeting other dogs and being with other dogs.  No dog parks for me!  So right now, I need to be the “one and only”.. you know.. the King of the Castle.  I need an owner that will be committed to my future training.  I know I can do it!  I just need some help!

A safe yard, daily walks, and daily companionship will help me stay happy and healthy!  Everyone tells me what a great boy I am.  All I want is a family that will accept me as a companion and will help me to overcome my fears. I am eager to please and love to hear that I'm a good boy.  If you are looking for a sweet, snuggly, active, smart boy, please fill out an application, because I'm your guy.. The King!

King would thrive in a forever home that is stable and committed to on-going training.  Please visit www.NBRAN.org, Adoption Center, Adoption Application.    Once the application is complete, you will hear from your local area State Coordinator.  This process includes a detailed phone interview, a vet check, and a home visit.

King is healthy, UTD on all vaccinations, heart worm negative, (on preventative), and micro chipped.  His adoption fee will be $350 to offset his vetting and to allow NBRAN to rescue more of these wonderful family members.  Transportation is an option, but must be discussed.
