Additional info: Gatsby came into the shelter as a stray. he came in matted and we do not know his history. He is a little shy and is still learning to trust. He is affectionate and great with other dogs. He is easy to walk and he enjoys his crate. It appears that he may have not had a lot of human contact and is not used to the outside world as he jumps at loud noises or sudden movements and will try to run or hide if you approach him but he has not shown any signs of aggression. Once you get him in your arms he turns to mush. He'll learn over time that he is safe and he'll settle down. Because of his fear issues, no young children for now. He needs a quiet home and a patient, kind and experienced person to help him build confidence on the leash. He also should be watched in case he takes off if spooked so he needs a secure environment.
