My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Nobody doesn't like Sara Lee. Sara is a lovely 8 1/2 month old purebred red
and white Border Collie with a semi rough coat. She was owner relinquished
with his brother, Bo Jangles, to BCIN because their elderly owners could not
keep up with the demands of raising a young border collie and properly care
for them. Sara, is more active than her brother, and plays all day with all
of the dogs at his foster home. She is housetrained and more cuddle bug,
and wants to be with her person all of the time. She will jump baby gate
to seek you out. Sara is typical of her breed as he is smart, loyal,
athletic, and she really needs a job to do to keep her from being
destructive. Sara is going to need daily consistent exercise and mental
stimulation to keep her well balanced. Sara is friendly with people and is
well socialized with other dogs. She is a bit of a water baby, and is also
starting to play ball, something which she had not done before coming into
rescue. She is still learning to walk on a leash, but s is getting better
every day. Sara has not been evaluated with cats. We are not recommending
a home with small children, as she tends to jump up on people and she could
knock a small child over. Sara is very sweet and biddable. She has the
potential to do just about anything you want her to do.

Please do not apply for Sara because she is pretty. We are looking for a
home that is BC savvy and knows the demands of raising a BC youngster. She
should not be placed as an only dog, unless his person is committed to keep
her active and socialized with other dogs. Sara will not be happy watching
life go by her in a backyard or with just a 45 minute daily walk. Her
foster home has worked hard to catch up with the lack of socialization that
she had when she first came into rescue. Her home must be committed in
continuing with the proper follow through in training and socialization to
keep her properly balanced. Sara will do anything you ask of her, but he
does have an off button and wants to forge a bond with her person.

Sara's adopters must be committed to work with the destruction and energy
associated with raising a puppy, along with housebreaking accidents. As
with all puppies, socialization and puppy obedience classes are a must.
This will ensure that you will have an outgoing, socialized, well behaved,
and well-adjusted adult dog in your family. If you are interested in
meeting Sara, please submit an adoption application. In addition to the
adoption application, applicants will be required to answer some additional
questions pertaining to puppies which will be sent to you after the adoption
application has been submitted. We require a pre-approved application to be
on file before any meet and greets are scheduled. The electronic application
can be found on our website at
