King Richard's Story...
Well, well, well ... you have come across my profile and now you must read my story. King Richard here. Or, is it just Richard? It would appear I have found myself in a bit of a ... "situation." It seems I have lost my castle and my minions. However, I am now on a secret mission with a secret plan to find a new castle and new subjects to rule. After all, to be a king, I do need subjects and a castle. I promise to be the best king you've ever had, and I can't wait to move in and get back to all my hobbies, like chasing toys and snuggling with my humans. Not only am I the most handsome cat around, but I am also the most affectionate guy you'll ever meet. I enjoy companionship and attention. I have a friendly, laid back, mellow personality. I'm a 4-year-old, neutered male cat who weighs 11.5 lbs. I use a litterbox like a good boy and hope to find a home in time for the holidays. Adoption fee: $60. Adopt a pair: $90. Fee includes testing, deworming, vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip and 60 days of free pet insurance.

Sunday, December 18: Adoption Event at PetPeople, 6520 Telegraph Rd, Bloomfield Hills. From noon to 4 p.m. on the fourth Sunday each month, come meet adoptable cats and kittens (as available - not all adoptable animals will be at every event). Event dates for 2016: December 18.

Adoption Process: Complete the application at www.pawsforliferescue.org. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the mandatory, minimum two-week adjustment period with the pet as part of your family. You will pay the non-refundable adoption fee at the start of the two-week adjustment period. This pending period allows your new dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the adjustment time as needed and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

King Richard, a Troy Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Troy, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Troy.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Troy already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Troy breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Troy paves the way for another one to be saved.
