Why haven't I been adopted yet?!
My name is Izzy and someone dumped me. I tried to find them but they never came back! I waited for 3 weeks and I stayed away from strangers for as long as I could, but I was so hungry and cold and Ms. Courtney had been trying to pet me for a long time. So I let her and suddenly now I have a nice warm bed to sleep in every night! I'm ready for a new family. One that won't abandon me and will love me forever!
I am SUPERRRRRRR loving and cuddly and nothing makes me sad!
I am
•approximately 8 months old
•a black mouth cur female
•50lbs and NOT going to grow anymore
•vaccinated
•spayed before adoption
•dewormed and on flea prevention
•great with all dogs
•great with kids
•great with cats
•playful and extremely loving
•ready to make the perfect addition to any home!!!
I do have one request.... When Ms. Courtney brought me home, she placed me in a room behind a gate before I was allowed to meet the other 12 dogs. I smelled them and saw them through the gate for 3 days before I was introduced to them. Because of that, I did GREAT and I've never had a problem with any of the other 12 dogs I live with! But I don't like just being introduced to a new dog right from the start. So I need a family that is willing to give me a 3-5 day trial before adoption. I need to be able to be behind a gate for a few days. Maybe in a laundry room? This is technically one of the best ways to introduce dogs anyway! Could you be my family and have a bit of patience for the first few days? I will be GREAT after I get the proper introduction :)
Please give me a chance and come meet me! Ms. Courtney says I am one of the sweetest dogs she has ever come across and one of her top favorite rescue stories. I am a keeper, I promise!!!

All the wet kisses in the world,
-Izzybear🐾🐾

About The Rescued K-9

About Our Rescue Group...

About TRK9: The Rescued K-9 is a non-profit, 501c3 accredited dog rescue organization that focuses specifically on saving dogs in their last few hours before euthanasia....dogs with no other options that are out of time.
All of our dogs are vaccinated and tested for heart worms and are spayed or neutered. Some pups come with 30 days of pet insurance and a microchip but not all. If they are not already spayed or neutered before adoption, the pup will be set up with an appointment for sterilization at no additional cost (because it is part of the adoption fee).
While we do not specialize in any particular breed, we do get in a lot of pitbulls and rottweilers because they are what end up on the euthanasia list more than any other breed!
We have a transport vehicle and we typically like to do the majority of the driving so that the adoption process is easier for our adopters and so that more people are willing to foster.

About the founder: My name is Courtney Kenny and I am the founder and the Director Of Operations for The Rescued K-9. I have been fostering for 6 years but just started my organization in June of 2014. I knew that fostering was making a difference but it did not feel like a big enough difference, so I sought out my new career and passion as a rescue organization owner and let me tell ya, nothing is more rewarding. I have never been happier than I am right now, finding these deserving angels their happily ever after. Fairy tales shouldn't just be for people!
I am a veterinary technician (an animal nurse) and over the past year I have been working with multiple trainers to work on basic obedience training and I am now equipped to do dog training as well. This will help further my abilities to get dogs adopted into good homes; as you can imagine, a dog that already knows basic commands is more desirable. I am the proud mother of 7 dogs and I have recently moved into a home with acreage on a horse ranch, providing quite a bit of country room to roam for the doggies.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We currently host all of our adoption events at North Bark Dog Park in West Plano. Due to being outdoors, our adoption events are planned in coordination with the weather, but we do typically try and host them once every two weeks! We also keep the cowboys schedule in mind when planning an adoption event ;)

Our Adoption Process...

***PLEASE EMAIL OR TEXT. Phone calls have become so frequent that it is difficult for me to get to all of them.***
Our adoption process is simple but thorough. Each adoption fee is different depending on the size and breed of the dog but TYPICALLY small dogs are $150 and large dogs are between $175 and $215. This adoption fee includes: basic exam, vaccinations, heartworm test, some dogs come with a microchip, spay/neuter, collar, leash, bag of dog food, bowls and treats!

To meet a dog, we will meet in a public area where you will determine if you are still interested in the dog. From there, you will fill out an adoption application and then we will do a home visit. If the home visit goes well and you are happy with us and vice versa, the pup becomes your new companion! You will then have a 30 day trial period in which you may return the dog if the situation does not pan out. Though not one of my dogs has been returned yet because the adoption process typically determines quickly if it is a permanent match or not.
