Imagine having lived with a family since birth and at 5 years of age being turned into a kill shelter. That’s what happened to Patty! Extremely sweet and gentle, Patty quickly becomes everyone’s favorite. X-rays reveal Patty has hip dysplasia in both hips. The good news is a daily dose of anti-inflammatory medication helps along with a joint supplement. Patty walks, and runs without any problems and easily balances herself when going potty. What’s challenging to her are hard surfaced floors where she cannot get good traction. Outside on grass, inside on carpeting/runners or with booties on, Patty is agile and mobile.

Patty loves being brushed, we had no problem clipping her nails. Super friendly with children, and reliably house trained, Patty has had free run of the house without being destructive. Thunder storms/fireworks do scare her and she will get into the trash if you leave it where she can get to it. If you are interested in adopting Patty, our adoption fee is $250. About Alaskan Malamute Rescue of Delaware

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a group of dedicated volunteers saving the lives of Alaskan Malamutes. We pull Mals from shelters that euthanize, accept owner release Malamutes and help educate the public on the characteristics of Malamutes.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are all volunteers. Our dogs are with fosters or in boarding kennels. Arrangements are made to meet them by appointment once your application has been processed and your home visit completed.

Our Adoption Process...

We have an application which requires references, including a vet reference. If you rent, we require written permission from your Landlord allowing you to adopt a Malamute. Once we receive your application, it is processed and then we arrange a home visit. Upon completion, you are invited to meet the Mals. From you application we generally have a good idea of which dog suits you. Our adoption contract states that if something should happen, the dog is returned to us. Our adoption fee is $225 for an adult and higher for a puppy under one year. All of our Mals are healthy, up to date on shots, spayed/neutered, and heartworm negative.
