With heavy hearts, my husband and I need to find a new home for Levi. We will soon be moving to a European country for a job relocation. For many reasons related to this move - mainly extensive travel - we have made the difficult decision to find Levi a new home. He attaches strongly to his people; it will not be fair to have him boarded for so much of his life.
Levi is a 1 yr + about 3 month old German Shepherd boy. He's neutered, heart worm negative and on prevention, up to date on all shots and microchipped. He is bouncy, goofy and lovable. He is just learning how to play games with his humans like fetch and tug.
We adopted Levi from Austin Animal Shelter in August of 2016. From the start he has been a real love, friendly to literally every person he meets. Loves kids, but since Levi is so young we monitor closely to prevent him from accidentally knocking any toddlers down. Levi does not like cats but he loves other dogs and is a play machine.
Inside the house he is perfect - no chewing on possessions, potties outside, does not beg. He knows sit, wait, working on down. Working well on leash walking when no dogs are around. Recall is not perfect but getting there.
Our only issue is that he is leash reactive. He wants to meet and greet every dog we see. I've had some training with Training By Tara (Tara Stermer) and also with Canine Center (Jyll). Both were excellent resources for us. Recommend Tara's Reactive Walker class on Sundays.
We request a rehoming fee to discourage unethical reasons for adoption. We will donate our fee to German Shepherd Rescue of Central Texas.
