Diesel's Story...
Name: Diesel
Breed: German Shorthair Pointer
Age: Adult
Gender: Male

Diesel is an adult male German Shorthair Pointer, previously a show dog until he started getting nervous with some strange men so that cut his career of looking good short. Luckily he's a smart, athletic dog with a lot of other things to offer. Diesel is house trained, crate trained (used to a plastic crate), loves walks and needs an active home used to the Shorthairs need for run time and their quirks-- his is that he chases leaves blowing outside, and will spend hours being distracted by blowing items outside and chasing them. He fetches, swims, loves the car, and walks nicely on the leash. Diesel is living with cats now and enjoys a chase but has not tried to harm them, and is used to having other dogs around-- we feel strongly he needs another dog in his home for company, and someone home more often than not. If you have room in your heart for a somewhat shy at first, very affectionate and fun dog, he's your guy.

Requirements: Dog experience, another dog in the home

You can email kladams4545@gmail.com with questions and for a preadopt application. This dog has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated as age appropriate, tested for heartworm disease if age appropriate, and dewormed.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Diesel, a Minneapolis German Shorthaired Pointer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shorthaired Pointer for sale in Minneapolis, or seeking a German Shorthaired Pointer dog from a breeder in Minneapolis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Minneapolis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Minneapolis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shorthaired Pointer breeders who help with German Shorthaired Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Minneapolis paves the way for another one to be saved.
