Cricket's Story...
CRICKET

Cricket is an 11-pound, 13-15 year old male Papillion mix. He is crate-trained and uses a doggy door to go outside to do his business. Cricket gets along with other small dogs as well as cats so long as they are not looking at him for entertainment. No...Cricket is a happy camper just sitting next you you watching TV or the world go by. We’re not sure how he does with big dogs or with young children. Since he’s a senior dog, he has a few little issues which come with age. When he jumps off furniture, his back legs get a little sore and he sometimes limps a little. Other than that, he’s a very healthy boy. Cricket does great on a leash and knows his basic commands. He loves to cuddle and sit on your lap. He’ll even sleep next to you at night! If you want to give a senior citizen a good home where he can love you for the rest of his life, then Cricket is just the guy for you. If you would like to make Cricket part of your family, please fill out an application online at www.lapdogrescue.org and include his name at the top.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cricket, a Tijeras Papillon dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Papillon for sale in Tijeras, or seeking a Papillon dog from a breeder in Tijeras.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tijeras already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tijeras breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Papillon breeders who help with Papillon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tijeras paves the way for another one to be saved.
