Our rescue will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express Saturday, January 21st from 1-4pm and Sunday, January 22nd from 12-3pm. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated and microchipped.

* If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. * We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted. * We do not ship our dogs for any reason. * Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy. * If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescue

This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, January 21st from 1-4pm and Sunday, January 22nd from 12-3pm or until adopted. However, we do meet with those who submit an application and are approved just prior to the event (by invitation only) and they are given the first opportunity to adopt. If you are interested in one of our dogs, we recommend filling out an application prior to the event to be considered. Applications submitted within 24 hours of the event may not necessarily be reviewed.

Jack is a 2 year old Schnauzer mix who we rescued from the shelter.  He's a spunky guy who likes to think he's the one in charge! His new home will be an experienced dog savvy home that has had dogs who are a challenge. He is not for the weak of heart or he'll run over the top of them. He needs a home that is savvy enough to set boundaries and willing to enforce rules with him. He needs a balanced home that understands dogs need rules and not just 'love'. Too much love will create a monster. A balance of love and boundaries will make for a well behaved dog.

Jack will require regular grooming. He has a non-shedding coat that will be an option for those who have allergies or simply want a dog who doesn't shed. Jack has not proven to be a nuisance barker. He is dog savvy and does well with other dogs. He has proven to be wicket smart which can be a blessing and a curse in a dog. Set the rules and this guy will follow the lead. Jack is an option for going to a home with cats. He is in a foster home with cats.

Jack is only an option for a home that has had a dog in the last 3 years. If there are children in the home, they need to be over the age of 10.

**Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)

**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.

About Our Rescue Group...

We are passionate folks who love dogs and love people! We strive to make the most appropriate match between human and canine. Because our dogs live in foster homes we know about their temperament and personality and therefore can help families and individuals decide if the dog is a good match or not. We are excited to help people find the right pooch for them and look forward to meeting great folks and welcoming them into the DPS Family.
