Rico is a wonderfully calm and cuddly boy who still has that happy and curiousity-driven puppy energy. His foster family has found that a good way to keep him occupied and entertained is to provide him with plenty of treats, bones, and chew toys (we’re sure he’d agree with this strategy). Rico is also a great hiking companion and thrives at the dog park where he gets along with every kind of dog -this good boy has even taken a liking to the cats he’s met since being rescued! While Rico loves to the stimulation of an adventure, he’s also happy to hang around at home with his favorite humans and would probably thrive with an active family who interested in multiple walks per day and exploring the great outdoors. Rico can be shy when meeting new humans and he’s still getting used to being on a leash, but he’s eager to please and quickly warms up to new things. This young guy will do so well with his forever home and is looking to join an affectionate and playful family!

About Our Rescue Group...

Each year, six to eight million dogs will end up at an animal shelter in the United States. Of those, approximately four million animals are euthanized.

Adopting a Capitol Canine is just one way to help combat this problem. Just by opening your home to one of our dogs, you are saving a life. In the process, you are gaining a companion who will reward you with love and gratitude.

Capitol Canines Animal Rescue saves dogs of various breeds, sizes, ages, and personalities. Please fill out an adoption application and our adoption team will ensure that you are matched with the perfect pup!

Our dogs all receive: vet exam, s/n, microchip, DHPP, bordatella, rabies vaccs, fecal exam, hw test, deworming, additional services, as needed.
