My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Hugo! This handsome and regal fella is among our newest feline residents, and is sadly, our poster child for winter safety and animals. When Hugo arrived recently, he was sporting a very visible tail injury that had become matted and hardened over, which formed a 'purr'fect breeding ground for the infection that lay within. Our friends over at Glenpark Animal Hospital quickly concluded that his gorgeous tail had likely become caught in the fan belt of a car, no doubt during his attempts to huddle and stay warm. With Glenpark's skilled hands and TLC, Hugo was treated to a tail amputation and neuter. Now Hugo is feeling much more comfortable, and no longer can clear out a room with the scent of his decaying appendage! Plus now he is safe and warm from the brutal elements that face outdoor kitties.
Hugo's story should serve as a reminder to always check your vehicle before starting it. Animals often like to seek refuge and warmth within the engine- Hugo could have very easily met an even more horrific fate, sadly. Make sure you bang on the hood of your car/truck, or honk your horn, to alert a potential stowaway animal and allow them time to depart, before losing a part!
