My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Cole
Breed: Cur mix
Age: Young Adult
Gender: Male

Cole is a sweet, gentle, 30 pound mixed breed who came from a high kill shelter. He hasn't seen a lot of the world and what he has seen sure hasn't treated him kindly. He is understandably timid and shy but this brave little guy is already approaching his foster mom for pets, shadowing her around the house, and comfortable with her dogs. His ideal home would have another dog for him to watch and learn from. He does like to give the cat a chase but its all in good fun (for him, the cat is less sure!). Cole is an overall mellow boy who is happiest snuggled up in a dog bed watching the goings on of the house. He is shy with new people but warms up with some time and treats. The chaos of the little kids scares him so he needs an adult home who understands that if little ones visit he would be happiest in his own space. No matter how scared, he has never been mean or nippy. He tries to retreat and if that isn't an option, he shuts his eyes, prepares for the worst, and is ever so grateful when it doesn't come. Cole does require a fenced yard as he is just starting to learn how to do a leash, and won't go potty on one. He enjoys the safety and comfort of his crate and is quiet in there. His coat is coming in healthy and clean now with good food and care, and the light in his eyes shines a little brighter each day also. He would be best with an experienced adopter, a fenced yard, and another calm, confident dog to continue to show him love the rest of his life.

Requirements: Physically fenced yard, another dog
