Lucas's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, a special needs pet, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Lucas's Story...
Lucas is 7 years old and has just recovered from Cruciate ligament surgery and due to his extensive tear we are listing him as special needs. He is not crippled and walks well in normal settings and can run. He needs to be limited by his human to not overdo. Nice thing is, he is only 34 lbs and enjoys being inside more than outside. Lucas is good with the cats and dogs in his foster home but basically ignored the dogs. He would not mind being an "only child". Please, feel free to call me directly at (423) 329-6749 to discuss Lucas. He is fostered in Tennessee. And can be transported to the Northeast area via Heartsllc Rescue Dog Transport to an approved adopter.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucas, a Battleboro German Shepherd Dog/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Dachshund for sale in Battleboro, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Dachshund dog from a breeder in Battleboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Battleboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Battleboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Dachshund breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Battleboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
