Nikki's Story...
Nikki is an older dog, age unknown, although we suspect around 9 or 10. She is a bit lame and has trouble going down stairs. She has some arthritis and has a bit of trouble walking around,so she's not really active. She is a real lap dog and wants to be around people all the time. She loves sitting on your lap and sleeping in your bed, and is not very active since she has a bit of a limp and doesn't like to walk around much. She came to us from Kansas where we're told her owner died and the family tossed her onto the street. Imagine loving someone your whole life then being tossed out like so much trash. We are committed to finding her the loving home she deserves. She'd be the perfect dog for an older person but they'd have to be able to carry her down the stairs because of her leg deformity, she really can't go down stairs although she climbs them to be with people. She is a sweet and loving dog who deserves to find a very special person to spend the rest of her life with. She will reward them with love and devotion, and deserves that in return. If you are interested please drop us a note so we can discuss the particulars.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nikki, a Rye Westie, West Highland White Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Westie, West Highland White Terrier for sale in Rye, or seeking a Westie, West Highland White Terrier dog from a breeder in Rye.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rye already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rye breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Westie, West Highland White Terrier breeders who help with Westie, West Highland White Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rye paves the way for another one to be saved.
