My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Petey is a small,2-year-old Jack Russell Terrier weighing only 12 1/2 pounds. Don't let his size fool you, he has a great big personality and a lot of energy. Petey loves to run and chase birds and squirrels. He is neutered, up-to-date on all of his shots and he is on heartworm and flea prevention. He gets along well with other dogs, but he does not like cats. He loves everyone, but I do not recommend him being around small children (no children under 5) as his energy level is high and he gets very excited. Petey was never taught any manners. He jumps up and tries to take the treats out of your hands and he can be impatient at mealtime. He even tries to gobble his food down without chewing! Petey’s foster family is helping him learn his manners but that will need to continue in his forever home. It’s important to be calm but firm with him. He doesn’t respond to loud yelling. Petey is working on house training and on a regular schedule, he does just fine. You must have a secure fenced-in yard as Petey is an escape artist like no other! He can dig under a fence and even push through the smallest of openings. It’s best not to leave him outside without monitoring him as it only takes a few moments for him to plan his next escape route! Petey is a love bug. He will follow you everywhere. He loves to sit on your lap and he can’t get enough belly rubs! He is crate trained and sleeps well through the night. If you think Petey is the right fit for your family, please contact MAJR. He would love a family of his own!
