My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Gingersnap, a 12 week old puppy who is here to add some sweetness to the holiday season! Gingersnap and her siblings Snickerdoodle, Sugar, Putter Pecan, and Spritz are the Cookie pups. Gingersnap currently weighs 19 pounds and looks like she might be part Airedale because of her thick, wiry coat. We don't know these pups' exact ingredients, but we have their mom Cookie, who is a 62 pound shepherd mix and a very sweet, medium-energy dog. Our best guess is Gingersnap will be large when fully grown, over 60 pounds. But only those willing to take pot-luck in terms of what size and breed she turns out to be, should apply!

Gingersnap is very sweet and also very shy at first. But once she gets to know you, she is very friendly, and loves to be held. She has typical puppy energy, loves to play with her siblings, and gets along well with older dogs. She sleeps through the night in her crate without accident, and is on the way to being house-trained. Because she is so young, Gingersnap needs a family where someone is home part or all day to finish her potty-training, keep her socialized and take her to puppy school.

Come meet Gingersnap and the other Cookie pups at Wilmette Pet Center (625 Green Bay Rd, 847-251-6750, wilmettepetcenter.com). Although you will want to take your favorite home on the spot, please know you will have to submit an application for adoption.

Gingersnap's adoption fee of $375 includes vet exam, distemper combo vaccination, bordetella vaccination, flea/tick preventative, heartworm preventative, routine deworming, microchip and spay.
