  • Age: Young
  • Size: Unknown
  • Sex: Female

Deja is a gentle soul with a very quick mind. She will eagerly seek out cuddles and loves nothing more then curling up on the couch with you for some quality time. When she wants something she can be stubborn and vocal in her determination to get it. But quickly gives way when her human establishes good leadership. She loves walks and car rides. She seems to be up for any adventure. She is house broken and has basic commands like sit, stay and shake a paw down. She is rather strong and needs some training on the leash as she pulls. She is eager to learn. While living in a foster home with both cats and dogs she has shown she likes and gets along well with other dogs, both small and large, and is eager to play with them. However, she would do better in a home without cats. She is very excitable and for this reason is not suitable for a home with children under 10. She has a sensitive stomach and needs transitioning from foods slowly. Deja does not do well with treat based training as it can make her system very upset.

About BC SPCA - Abbotsford Shelter

About Our Shelter...

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
