Poor little Max is a neurotic bundle of nerves. He was taken to the shelter in San Antonio by his owners because he didn't want to use his litter box, and medical tests etc, didn't show any problems. Long story short, he was declawed, so I'm sure the litter hurt his little toes. I've had him for a year, and he's been living on top of the refrigerator and doing just fine using the soft paper litter we have here. I was hoping he would feel comfortable enough in our home to eventually work his way down, but after a year I think he's settled in. He developed a cough and stopped eating (I think our seal point Buddy was helping him eat, as they like to hang out together), so I brought him down to take him to the vet and give him some alone time with his food dish. He needs a very patient owner who is willing to give him the time he needs to get over his fears, who places no expectations on him. He's very sweet and loves being petted and having his tummy skritched, but he's not for the novice owner. He's safe with us until we find a home I feel comfortable with.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.
