Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Penny! This little rat terrier/toy fox terrier mix is currently in search of a forever home. Just a few months ago, Penny’s future wasn’t looking too bright. Luckily, she found her way to TRI and now has a second chance at life. Around 1 year old and 17 lbs., Penny had never known all of the wonderful things that life has to offer for a little dog. She had never been held or cuddled and she had no idea what it meant to interact with people. As a result, she is quite timid around them, often preferring to watch from a distance. But she is starting to realize that life doesn’t have to be so scary. In fact, she has discovered that it’s actually nice to be cuddled and given treats. And she has found a new favorite activity – running and playing with her foster siblings in the backyard! Ever so slowly, Penny is starting to come out of her shell. Now it’s time for her to take that next step – to find a forever family.
Penny has never had a family of her own, but she knows there is one out there – just for her. Her perfect family would understand that it will take Penny some time to become an outgoing, confident dog. And they will have lots of patience and go slow…even feeding her by hand until she learns to trust. And they’d be willing to love her despite the challenges. Ideally, her new family would have another little dog – or two – who could show Penny the ropes and teach her that humans are ok. She thrives in the company of other dogs! Most of all, Penny just wants to feel safe, loved, and to know that she will never be alone again. She will make a perfect little companion, if someone will give her the chance.
If you would like to make Penny’s dreams come true, contact her adoption consultant, Debby, at 440-364-1286 or djg4517@gmail.com for more information!
