My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Teddy is an 8-year-old, neutered male pug surrendered by his former owner to Philly Pug & Short Nose Rescue. He as a very soft fluffy coat, impressive nose wrinkle, and a gentle disposition.

He loves other dogs. Teddy has a surprising amount of energy for an 8-year-old pug. Loves the company of other dogs and will play like a puppy with them. He likes the way cats smell and is curious about them but will generally ignore them. He enjoys cuddling with people and being told he’s a good boy.

Teddy’s vision is a little limited but doesn’t let it slow him down. In a new place, he will pace the entire perimeter a few times to get the lay of the land, and then can do a good job of navigating.

His hearing is good and he will stand and tilt his head often to listen. He sometimes needs a little extra volume to catch his attention but he will come to you when called. He also knows a few commands such as sit, stop and stay.

Does well with potty habits after getting familiar with his designated spots and has no problem with incontinence. He does need morning and evening walks and a mid-day break. He usually takes care of business quickly. He walks very well on a leash with no pulling and will follow along with gentle tugs on the lead or voice directions.

His favorite foods are all foods (he is a pug after all), and is doing well on a grain-free, small-size dry food with either solid fruits or carrots as treats.
