BRENT's Info...

BRENT's Story...
Please take the time to read all information provided as it could answer some questions you may have.

BRENT was saved from Texas where most shelters have to kill dogs for space after just 3 days. BRENT is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, heartworm & tick-disease tested (Snap 4dx) negative and micro-chipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 1 December 2015 and as of December 2016 weighed around 20 pounds.

BRENT is a fun loving boy, who loves to chew on the hooves and keep himself amused, but then can quite happily run and play with the other small dogs. He is full of love and kisses and loves to climb on my knee for some cuddles. BRENT would suit a family that is familiar with small breed dogs, someone who understands the needs of small breed dogs. He would benefit a life of adventures and exploration and then cuddles on the couch at night before bed. BRENT currently lives with all size dogs ranging from 6 pound chi's to 95 pound German Shepherds and gets on great with them all. We do NOT have cats at the rescue so cannot comment on how he would be with them.

We have dog doors in the house and BRENT uses them to go out and play or to do his business, however, I also have pee-pads inside and I think he uses those also. It would be wise to expect the odd accident until he learns her new routine and to let you know he needs to go outside.

BRENT would benefit from an active, fun family that has the time to work with him on his obedience and manners, who would take him on adventures and road trips and let him explore the sights, sounds and smells the world has to offer. He would benefit from a family that has the time to work with him on basic and advanced obedience training. By working together both BRENT and his humans can learn each others body language and personality, expectations and boundaries can be set and with self-training a stronger bond formed.

We currently feed SPORTMIX Wholesomes Chicken Meal & Rice Formula, a 4* (a per www.dogfoodadvisor.com) GRAIN FREE food along with pro-bioitics and immune support supplements listed on the available dogs page!

BRENT is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $500. This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food and anything else that is needed.

If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this handsome boy a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the APPLICATION tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 2-4 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then you complete and submit the contract, make payment and then we can work out the pick up / transport arrangements.

Please do NOT submit an application if you are not looking to take home a new best friend within the next few weeks.

BRENT is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine. We post in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls. Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. There is a local hotel in Dover-Foxcroft that is pet-friendly (approx 6 miles) and several in Bangor (approx 45 miles). There are also lots of wonderful camp-sites for the more adventurous families and what a great way to get to know your new best friend. If there are options to arrange transport, we will work with you to make it happen.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

BRENT, a Allentown Jack Russell Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Jack Russell Terrier for sale in Allentown, or seeking a Jack Russell Terrier dog from a breeder in Allentown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Allentown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Allentown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Jack Russell Terrier breeders who help with Jack Russell Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Allentown paves the way for another one to be saved.
