This is Savvy (HWTH#16435A). She is an American Bulldog mix, DOB: 7/16/16. Savvy weighs approximately 35 pounds and stands 17 inches at the shoulders with a little more growing to do (she will be a medium-size dog when mature). She was turned over to Halfway to Home by another rescue in the hopes Savvy would have a better chance at finding the Forever home she deserves. Savvy is a little shy but loving and seems to respond better to women than men. She is going to need a very kind owner (preferably female?) willing to give Savvy the time she will need to adjust to her new environment. Lots of love, good-quality human companionship, playtime and exercise will be a must for this precious girl. Currently Savvy is residing with a volunteer with Halfway to Home and 14 other dogs of various, breeds, sizes and ages with no problems. She loves to play with the other dogs at the foster home and it might be a good thing if her new home had a compatible canine for her to play with to help her ease into her new surroundings. She has learned to use a dog door but is not completely house trained, although the volunteer is working with her. Her new owner will need to continue with the potty training process when Savvy is adopted. After Savvy is thoroughly settled into her new Forever home, she will benefit from positive basic obedience training to help with leash training and the bonding process. Once Savvy has bonded with her new owner, she will be an appreciative, loyal canine companion. Savvy should also have a variety of chew toys to give her an outlet for puppy chewing since technically she is still a pup. She is crate trained.
