Meet Ginger (or Gingeroo, as her foster family refers to her) she is a fun and spunky gal who is outgoing and enjoys any attention from her people! She LOVES everyone she meets and greets everyone with a bright eye and tail wag! Ginger gets along great with the other dogs in her foster home, big and small, so long as they respect her food space. She would especially enjoy another older smaller dog who wants to snuggle. She is currently living with a cat, for possibly the first time in her life, and seems to be adjusting fine. She is crate trained and walks well on a leash. She naturally sticks close but enjoys her daily meander in the safety of her fully fenced yard. She is hard of hearing but doesn't seem to mind :) She is fixed, vaccinated and microchipped. If you think Ginger would make a great addition to your lap and heart please start by completing our adoption application online at caws.org. Thanks! If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at http://caws.org/html/adoption_application.html

About Community Animal Welfare Society

About Our Rescue Group...

Founded in 1992 the Community Animal Welfare Society ( CAWS) is one of the oldest no-kill animal rescues in Utah. Over the last 20 years CAWS, our fosters and supporters have saved thousands of lives including over 600 last this year. As the largest foster home network in the state of Utah we focus on high risk pets in need of additional care and rehabilitation

Come Meet Our Pets...

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.

Our Adoption Process...

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.
