My name is Melodie and no need to impress me with fancy dog beds, designer collars, and a Gucci bag to carry me around. That’s not the kind of pup I am, I care more about finding a home where I will never have to worry about being abandoned again. I am a wee girl with some Maltese in my mix -– I tip the scales at 4 lbs. My body may be tiny but I have a huge heart. Somehow I ended up at Animal Control as another unclaimed treasure. My pals here at the Centre tell me not to worry; life only gets better from now on. I am a very affectionate girl and I love human attention. I greet everyone with friendliness and enthusiasm. Don’t think because I am small that you must carry me, I enjoy using my legs. In fact, I have very little muscle in my hind legs and it is probably for the simple reason that I didn’t get to use them much! So, daily walks should be part of my daily routine. When you are ready for some love and affection, I will gladly snuggle with you. Since I am so tiny, I do need a home without young children. I like kids but young ones might trip over me or accidentally step on me; that would not be a good thing! I know that when that right person enters my life it will be the best feeling in the world. I assure you, you won’t find a better little lap companion. I need to be special in someone’s life. Would you keep me safe? If you can give me my furever home, then please don’t hesitate.
