Meet the newest rescue baby to the Last Resort! This beauty is Aurelia. She is a Siberian Husky who weighs 40 pounds and is 3 years old. We know she lived outside most of her life so she is going to be very spoiled now! 6 months ago we answered a plea on Facebook to take in four Husky puppies in NC. “Baby” was their mother. We tried to get the owner, who spoke very little English, to surrender the puppies’ parents. They assured us Baby and the Dad were well taken care of and they were going to have Baby spayed. Quite the contrary – Baby ended up having another litter, which we presume were sold. Sadly, the Dad escaped recently and was hit by a car so now that Baby didn’t have a mate, she was of no use to her owners anymore. When we got the call to take Baby, we immediately came to the rescue! And, we started by giving her a pure, Husky name – Aurelia. Aurelia is Miss Perfect, for a Husky. She's fairly low key, would do great with another low key dog or as an only dog and isn't destructive in the home. She would do best with a fenced yard as she sometimes shows her Husky Zoomies. She is now spayed and brought current on her vaccines. So far she is house trained and very affectionate. She is currently in foster home in NC and can be transported to MD or NJ when an approved adopter is found.
