Roxy's Story...
This beautiful girl is Roxy. She is a 9-10 year old lab who was brought to the shelter as an owner surrender. Roxy is currently in a foster home, and here is what her foster mom has to say about her: "She is a friendly, happy, smiling, typical lab mix, wagging tail, kisses even for strangers and wanted to sit on my lap if she could have lifted her legs up high enough to climb aboard." "She has only had 1 accident in the house and that was the first morning but nothing since. She's an awesome girl that loves being in doors where it is warm, loves having her belly rubbed and being petted. We have had no issues with her and my dogs at all and while out today while I was shoveling the snow, Roxy tried to get my dogs to play a little." Roxy would be a wonderful fit for any family looking for a wonderful and mostly mellow companion. If you would like to schedule a meet and greet with Roxy feel free to call the shelter at 208-794-0944.

If you want to apply for Roxy, please visit the rescue and fill out an application. All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will call the person chosen to adopt the dog after the available date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Roxy, a Meridian Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Meridian, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
