Facts about Rascal 2

  • Breed: Keeshond Mix
  • Color: Black
  • Age: Senior
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
  • Sex: Female
Hello! My name is Rascal and I am a mere 13 yrs old. I am up for adoption because my previous owner thought I was too old!! I do have arthritis but I like to take walks and I don't pull at all! I get along with other dogs, but I don't appreciate them pushing me around when I'm trying to get outside. I still cry when I think of my last master, but I'm sure with time I'll forget his mean butt!!

Rascal was an owner turn in to Effingham Animal Control. She seems very sweet. She is spayed, up to date on shots. She is housebroken and just a doll. She needs a bath but has been recently clipped. She has a little sore on her left side from where she was clipped too close (I think). Her records say that she has had an allergy shot and is on painkillers for her arthritis. She was surrendered with an instruction to PTS because she is too old. She is 12. I believe she has 1-2 years left because she is bright-eyed and has not given up. A little weight loss wouldn't hurt those hips

Our adoption process is three-fold: submit an application, meet the pet, then arrange for us to do your in-home interview.
Adoption Fees:
Kittens: $60, Cats (1 year plus): $50, Puppies: $250, Adult Canines (1 to 6 years): $200, Seniors (7 years plus): $100 (unless otherwise specified). Adoption fees are not a tax-deductible donation as allowed by IRS regulations. Adoption fees help to offset the cost of the pet's care incurred by Coastal Pet Rescue, which are generally 2 to 3 times the adoption fee amount.
Some special circumstances may change the fee; see pet's listing for actual adoption fee.

All Coastal Pet Rescue pets are current on shots, microchipped* and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Adopters are responsible for any shots that may be due after adoption (particularly for kittens and puppies that must have three rounds of shots to be protected).

Microchip:
CPR has implanted a microchip as part of the adoption process and the chip is included in the adoption fee. However, some chip companies require a registration fee varying from $9.99 to $19.99. The registration fees are the responsibility of the adopter and are NOT included in the CPR adoption fee. Adopters may add this cost to their adoption fee to have CPR register the chip on their behalf.

30 Days Pet Insurance:
As a Petfinder member, all adopters are entitled to a free 30 day insurance policy through PetFirst. Coastal Pet Rescue is not responsible for this policy. Adopters must call PetFirst’s toll-free number 855-710-7387 to activate the coverage. If adopters fail to call, the policy will not be activated.

About Coastal Pet Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Coastal Pet Rescue is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of homeless, abused and neglected animals in the coastal areas of Georgia, South Carolina and Florida. Our goal is to save as many pet lives as possible through rescue and to provide opportunities to the public to become better pet guardians.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our pets all live in our homes, so adoption applications must be submitted for appointments to be made to see the pets. We also have them with us at our outdoor events, so view our "events" calendar on our website for those dates and locations.
