Here's what the humans have to say about me:
After years of severe neglect and cruelty at the hands of her former owner, five-year-old Edie is finally learning what it feels like to be loved and cared for.
She was emaciated, had burn scars on her back, and had just given birth to seven puppies in a backyard when a good samaritan first learned of the situation.
Sadly, Edie had already lost two of her puppies, one of which drowned in a jacuzzi and another who suffocated in the dirt after becoming stuck in the fencing. The already sickly runt didn't make it through its first night following the family's rescue.
After taking care of Edie and her four surviving puppies, the good samaritan managed to re-home all but the new mother, who didn't get along with her temporary foster family's cats. After reaching out to local media outlet KHTS, which featured Edie as the Adoptable Pet of the Week, the good samartian felt she had exhausted all her options and might be forced to take Edie back to the shelter, where she feared the former abusive owner would find her.
KHTS Features Director Melissa Lampert couldn't let that happen, so Madeline's Angels Pet Sanctuary was born. Edie is now under the care of a MAPS foster family, and has transformed into a confident, playful pup. Always ready to snuggle up on the couch or go for a long walk, Edie absolutely adores people, and the only signs of her dark past are the burn scars on her back.
Thanks to the generosity of A Paw Above Dog Training, Edie's adopters will receive FREE training to help her succeed in her new home. You can read more about Edie's story in these KHTS articles:
