Are you ready for this wonderful boy!? Meet Mistle, as in Mistletoe! The Last Resort rescue saved him right before Christmas – we just couldn’t bear the thought of him spending his holidays in a kill shelter. The volunteers at the shelter said he was their favorite dog – loves everyone and everything and is just a sweet, happy, gentle boy. Mistle is a brindle colored Plott hound/lab mix that is about 40-45 pounds. He has the most beautiful eyes. We know that shelter volunteers brought some children to meet him and he just loved the kids. He is also good with other dogs as long as they don't mind being kissed and played with. He is a very kissy, in your face, wanna cuddle all the time guy. Mistle is just be a nice well rounded dog to have as a best friend. Mistle is a young guy somewhere between 9 months - 1 year old. You can tell Mistle has been abused but he is trying very heard to overcome all of his fears and doesn't let it get the best of him. He cowers a bit and is always acting very submissive but he rebounds quickly. On the other hand, he truly is very playful and loves to give kisses!! He loves carrying around tennis balls and teddy bears and 'talks' with his toys in his mouth because he is just so happy. He is super excited to play ball and is learning how to bring it back so you can throw it again. His favorite thing ever is to play 'chuck it' - you need a chuck it launcher to adopt this kid! Because he is so young, do expect to crate him, as he does chew on things. He just needs to be taught to focus on bones and the proper chew toys. He does great in his crate! He is a super smart boy and figured out the routine and when to go in his crate very quickly in his foster home. He wasn't potty trained when he first came to his foster home, but he has learned the drill pretty quick and has had no accidents in quite a while now. He truly only wants to please his people. Because of his young age, we think it best that Mistle go to a home where his people are around more often and not gone 8 hour days. That would be really tough for him. He is neutered, healthy and current on his vaccines. He will be available for transport to either MD or NJ when an adopter becomes approved.
