Georgia's Story...
* Georgia is currently in foster care while we complete her heartworm treatment *Georgia arrived at the shelter as a stray, terrified of everyone. Given some time to settle in, we've discovered that she is a very sweet, affectionate, and intelligent girl (she knows how to sit, shake, down, stay, and speak). We also discovered that she is heartworm positive. She is about 3 years old, and weighs just under 50 pounds. We think she'll probably chase cats if given the opportunity, and a home without small children will be best for Georgia. Georgia must meet any resident dog(s) in a potential new home to make sure they get along. Here at the shelter, Georgia has been a little shy but tolerant when meeting other dogs. Please contact the shelter directly if you'd like more info about adopting Georgia.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Georgia, a Lyons Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Lyons, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Lyons.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lyons already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lyons breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lyons paves the way for another one to be saved.
