A Little Bit About Me

Betty is every bit the Prima Donna. She embodies that unique personality that we like to call tortitude very well. Basically she likes what she likes, and what she likes can change daily! Torties are often described as independent, strong willed, unpredictable and feisty, but so, so gorgeous!

Betty will do best in an indoor/outdoor home, or in a barn situation. This girl is not meant for small spaces. She is very playful and is most likely a great mouser! Betty is one that will not be coddled or cuddled! This may be a challenge for most people, but we know there is a special place Betty can call home somewhere.

About North Bay Canine Rescue & Placement

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a group of people dedicated to rescuing dogs from crisis situations, some of which include euthanasia by animal shelters, neglect and other forms of abuse, or "free to a good home" ads, which result in dogs being bounced from one home to another, or being acquired by animal brokers ("bunchers") and sold to research laboratories where they are used for testing then discarded ("cruelty industries").

NBCR&P works primarily with 5 herding breeds, and herding breed mixes. On occasion, NBCR&P also rescues and places other breeds. We foster our dogs in a home environment, rather than a kennel, if at all possible. We take pride in our promise that at any time and for any reason in the dog's life, if the need arises, he or she has a safe place with us ("return to rescue" policy).
