Meet pretty little Heidi! This sweet girl is approximately 1-2 years old. She is a chi mix and weighs 8 lbs. She came to the shelter originally from a hoarding situation. She had never been socialized and was very fearful of humans. We have had her in our rescue now for a few months and she has made great strides. However, she still has quite a ways to go. When we first got this little girl she would coward in the corner if anyone came close to her or even in the same room. Through a lot of hard work and patience her foster mommy has brought her a long ways. She will reluctantly let you pick her up now though she is still initially nervous. Once you hold her close to your heart and talk to her she starts to relax. She follows her foster mom around the house a lot but at times goes off on her own to be alone. She sleeps in her foster mom’s bed at night. This is something she started doing on her own which is a great sign. She no longer runs and hides when guest come over. She’s actually curious but still keeps her distance. She does great with other dogs and has done well with her house training. Heidi needs a forever home of her own but it needs to be a special home. Heidi needs a home that will give her lots of love and patience. Though she has come a long ways she still has a long ways to go to become totally socialized, comfortable and relaxed. And though she has become more relaxed in her foster home she may have a little bit of a set back once she goes into a new home with new people she doesn’t know. She’s a very sweet girl and you can tell she craves the love and wants it desperately. She just doesn’t know how yet but is trying to learn. Her foster mom constantly rubs her little head and gives her kisses while telling her how beautiful she is as well as loved.

If you think you might be the right home for little Heidi and would be interested in giving her a forever home please contact her foster mommy for an application. We prefer a home with no small children. We also prefer a home that has another dog already but no more than one or two. Heidi is comfortable with other dogs and they help to release her stress but too many and it becomes harder for her human to build a bond with her. About Furever Angels Animal Rescue of Charlotte

Our Adoption Process...

1.) All potential adopters will be required to fill out an application and have a home visit prior to adoption. We work
hard at placing all of our rescued animals in the best suitable home possible. We want to ensure the absolute best
fit to ensure these sweet babies will be adopted to their forever home and will never have to worry about being
homeless again.

2.) All of our rescue animals are fully vetted as well as spayed and neutered at the time of adoption unless there is a
medical reason or they are too young to be spayed or neutered at the time, in which a spay/neuter contract will
have to be signed. We would like our potential adopters to understand the severe pet overpopulation that is
present in our state and want all pet owners to be responsible in spaying and neutering their pets. Therefore it is
our policy not to adopt to families that have unaltered pets. Our hearts ache for all the homeless animals including
litters and litters of puppies and kittens that get killed in these shelters every day, many by being gassed to death.
We try to save the owner surrendered animals because they are the first to be killed, usually on the same day they
are surrendered. Unfortunately we can not save them all and there are only a very few lucky ones to make it out

3.) In general, we do require a fence for dogs unless there are special circumstances such as the dog being older,
more laid back, couch potato, etc. There may be other special circumstances as well such as having a dog park next
door or wanting a running or hiking partner. We understand that most dogs have a lot of energy and need enough
exercise to release that energy. We also want the dog to have a safe place to play in which a fenced yard is most
appropriate. We do not accept invisible fencing as a suitable option for various reasons. If there is a question about
whether a fence is required for a particular dog, please contact the person listed as the contact.

4.) All adopters must be a minimum of 23 years old.

5.) Due to limited resources, out of state adopters are required to travel to our location and are required to have a
home visit completed prior to coming to meet us.
