Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Ronin is an older black poodle in need of a forever home. He was found locked in a crate in the basement of a home, living in his own feces and matted completely from his head to his toes. The neglect was heartbreaking, and it is amazing that he immediately showed affection toward and trust in his rescuers, asking to be picked up and held constantly. As you'd expect from the circumstances, Ronin is not crazy about entering a crate, but he will go in. Once inside the crate, he is quite vocal, reminding you that it is NOT where he wants to stay. After calmly and quietly tolerating hours of work by his rescuers to remove the matted fur and filth from his body, Ronin just wanted to be carried around and cuddled. His rescuers discovered a few lumps underneath the matts, and he was examined by our vet where they removed the masses. Ronin likes to play fetch with a tennis ball, and exhibits personality traits typical of poodles. A calmer adult home or with older kids would be the best situation for this guy. Ronin is active and loves to play with his toys and go on daily walks.
